“I'm new to the Parish.” “I’m new to South Surrey/White Rock.” “I’ve got questions about Catholicism.” “I’ve got questions about faith. I’m seeking.”

Welcome! We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit our website. If you haven’t yet done so, please come by the Parish Office, say hi to our Pastor, Father Augustine, and the office staff. We would love to meet you and have a chat!

Whether you are just curious about Christianity, the Catholic faith, or a Catholic new to the area, or a new parishioner, we’ll try to answer your questions.

Here at Star of the Sea Parish we seek to follow Jesus Christ and to invite others to do the same, to live by the virtue of hope found in the Gospel words of Jesus, and to live by faith based principles rooted in the New Testament.

If you are considering becoming Catholic, please inquire about our process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) which will guide you to “consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion” (RCIA 1).

Do you have Catholic children in kindergarten to grade 7 not attending our parish school? Our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) prepares them to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist in grade 2 and Confirmation in grade 7. Please call or come by the Parish Office for more information.

Our Sunday 11am Mass in Good Shepherd Church is also streamed on our YouTube Channel, SOSParish, for those who are physically ill or have an incapacity to go to Mass.

We hope that you will find that this parish community is one you would like to belong to.

A Roman Catholic community who follows Jesus Christ and invites others to do the same

Mass: What to Expect

If you have never been to Mass before, or if you haven't gone in a long time, we are excited to have you join us as we celebrate and worship together. We understand that it may feel foreign at first, and that some parts might seem confusing. The last thing we would want is for you to feel unwelcome during the service, so we have created a little guide for you to help you understand the liturgy a little better.
